Afraid to show my talent?

I'm a softball player and I'm a catcher, and I'm pretty damn good at it. But the thing is I'm joining this summer softball league and won't be able to catch. So I'm put either in infield or outfield. I know I can do it...but I'm not sure why but I'm so afraid to show what i can really do. Every time i go to make a play I mess up because i'm so nervous! It also doesn't help that I'm incredibly shy...and so at our first practice i stood in the outfield like a wall flower not talking to anybody and i do not thin they like me at all...I can play i really love softball...but I just don't know how to push down that fear of messing up, or no one liking me or whatever to just relax and play. Please help me! I don't want to waste everything I've got because I'm just too shy and nervous...
